The Ohio E-Check program has changed as of 2006.

Northeast Ohioans are still required to get E-Check's for the next two years.
E-Checks will now be free. The $19.50 fee will no longer be collected from the E-Check
Stations and will be funded by the tobacco settlement funds.
In 2006 no vehicle years 2003-2006, including transfered ownership, will require testing.


An inspection certificate is valid for 365 days following the date of the test. If you may use that same test certificate to renew your registration if your renewal date falls within 365 days from the initial test.

Required Vehicles

All gasoline and diesel-fueled vehicles equal to or less than 10,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), 25 years old or newer from the current testing year, and registered in an E-Check county must comply with E-Check. New vehicles are exempt for the first four model years. Close ECheck Locations
